Okemii Deli & Internet Cafe reviews
10Great local option. Delicious sashimi and poke. Highlights were steamed whole fish (the sauce!) and basil stir fried fish. The stir fry is made with pepper leaves, so consider asking for mild to really taste the fish and sauce. All dishes came with rice included.
The food is good, and the plating looks very nice. It is a little pricey for what you get, but not terrible. Definitely the best scenery out of the restaurants in Babeldaob!
Also, they didn't have a card reader when I went, so make sure to bring some cash.
What a lovely cafe! The breeze on the back patio is fantastic with a nice view of the beach. We ordered Beef Basil Stir Fry and Fish & Chips. Both dishes were fantastic. This Fish & Chips may be the best I've ever had- the fish of the day was Wahoo (this may rotate). The fish was fresh and flakey with a light and crispy golden crust. The Beef Basil Stir Fry was aromatic, flavorful, and delicious. I highly reccomend you visit this Palauan Cafe on your visit to Palau.
Mandatory "service charge" automatically added to your check.
Tips are supposed to be a voluntary thing, not forced on a patron. They are an incentive to provide respectful service.
People expect tips for service to be voluntary, they don't see this mandatory charge coming.
Good food, clean place, polite service.
The only restaurant in North Babeldaob of Palau. The view is fantastic, food is just okay since there is no competition.
Food are super delicious and served with big portion. Highly recommended to have lunch here next to the beach.
First off, the Melekeok community is the most charming of all of Palau in my opinion. Something so absolutely pleasant about it. The boonie dogs are so much more relaxed, and are friendly and less timid, the limestone reef is huge and expansive, the beaches are clean and gorgeous sand, and the homes are unique, and the community is marked by a National Register of Historic Places limestone carved monolith of a god king face. And with all that you have this cute unassuming little cafe overlooking the water that served, by far, the very finest fish sandwich I have ever, ever experienced in my entire 59 years of life. The staff mentioned that they were concerned about competing with a hotel/resort that was being (unfortunately) developed in the community (not sure why anyone let that happen), but I assure them that with food like they serve they have nothing to fear. My work mate ordered a noodle stir fry that he said was equally wonderful. I gave this cafe 5 stars, but quite frankly, the setting, staff and chef deserve much higher. I found this place on my last day in Palau, and pray for the day I return to it. If you do nothing else in Palau eat at this cafe, and sit out on the deck overlooking the perfect reef with the amazing massive tree that shades this unassuming diamond in the rough. And I do feel lousy about the change in this amazing community that will likely occur with the development of that oversized hotel. What were those people thinking when they decided to add that! Cheers to Okemii! Be well, stay solid.and thanks for the amazing food and setting.
Great view and great food. PNCC WiFi is also available (prepaid card needed). Come on a good sunny day and enjoy the patio seat.
A wonderful, quiet spot for a quick bite and a gorgeous view. The food and coffee was good, but nothing can beat the scenery. If you're trying to drive around the coasts of Palau, this is a great place to stop.
It's one of about two places on babeldaob. It offers the usual across-the-board selection of a lot of places in Palau. And as usual, the fresh fish is the way to go. They serve a nice side salad, surprisingly. The outdoor seating is nice, and feels pretty cool. To get there you take the road down from Ngerelmud and go right for a minute or so.
